Dr. Barksdale has extensive training and experience in diabetic charcot reconstruction and limb salvage, adult/pediatric flatfoot correction and sports medicine. She is board certified in Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery with the American College of Foot & Ankle surgeons and is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Indiana Podiatric Medical Association. She has also completed a certification for Muscle Flaps & External Fixation Frames in Chicago, Illinois.
Apart from her medical experience, Dr. Barksdale is also an ambassador for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. She served as their national spokesperson from 2003-2004. As tradition would hold, President George W. Bush, in the Oval Office, officially installed Dr. Barksdale as the National Youth of the Year during her reign. As a representative and spokesperson for Boys & Girls Club, Dr. Barksdale has traveled all over the United States and to 4 countries speaking on behalf of the organization and being a role model to club members.
Dr. Barksdale enjoys teaching and since the beginning of her career has worked directly with residents in the central, Indiana area. She is also very family oriented and enjoys spending time with her two daughters and husband.
